Annual Refugee Potluck

PRERNA has a tradition of enforcing activities towards cultural assimilation and integrating different ethnicities through basic elements like “food” that bind all of us. we believe that besides services like education, employment, health and others, very simple social engagements that are created to help heal and blossom the families will contribute towards their mental and overall well-being.
Our annual potluck event always brings a great turn-out of refugee families that are in different stages of the process of becoming self-sustainable and all of the PRERNA volunteers that have stood by every challenge that has hit us to fill the lives of every single adult, youth or child with compassion and unconditional support.
“We have received a lot of support and guidance from PRERNA, but what we have received the most is HOPE”, Esmetullah Meherzada.
10th Annual SEVATHON EVENT
Sunday, August 19th, 2018
PRERNA participated for the 1st time as part of SEVATHON to raise awareness, increase visibility with new volunteers and enjoy the beautiful weather as 1000’s of residents of bay area took to the streets for the half marathon, 10K and 5K. There was also an incredible park with people participating in yogathon amongst the dance and other festivities that were carried out with delicious food stalls as part of all the entertainment for the day.
